When the usedocs assistant cannot answer from your docs, it hands the conversation to your team, and when someone leaves contact details, it captures a lead. With a Discord webhook connected, both post to your channel with the question and a link to the conversation. Each handed off question also joins the gap list, where usedocs drafts the article that would have answered it. If your community asks questions directly in Discord, import those conversations or a CSV of them so the repeats become ranked gaps too.
Set it up
- Create a webhook in Discord. In the channel settings, open Integrations, create a webhook, and copy its URL.
- Paste it into usedocs. In the dashboard, open Integrations, find Discord under Alerts, and paste the URL.
- Test it. Ask the assistant something your docs do not cover and check the channel.
What it does
- Handoff alerts. The question and a link to the conversation, posted to your channel.
- Lead alerts. New leads from the widget, for follow up.
- Simple setup. A channel webhook URL; no bot to host.
- Feeds the gap list. Handed off questions become gaps with drafted articles.
Good to know
- Alerts cover handoffs and new leads; edits and drafts wait in the dashboard's review queue.
- Webhook URLs are secrets: rotate them if one leaks and update usedocs.
- Delivery is queued, so expect seconds, not milliseconds.
- Discord rate limits can delay bursts of alerts.
