usedocs answers customers from your help center and says so when the docs do not cover a question. When it hands the conversation to your team, or captures a lead, the Slack integration posts the question, the conversation link, and the contact when available to the channel you picked. The same question also joins the gap list, so after your team answers the customer, usedocs can draft the article that answers the next one. Slack is an alert path, not an answer bot in every thread, and not a shared inbox.
Set it up
- Open Integrations. In the dashboard, open Integrations and find Slack under Alerts.
- Connect Slack. Approve the usedocs Slack app for your workspace.
- Pick a channel. Choose the channel that should receive handoffs and leads.
- Test it. Ask the assistant something your docs do not cover and confirm the alert arrives.
What it does
- Handoff alerts. The question, the conversation link, and the contact when captured, posted when the assistant hands off.
- Lead alerts. New leads from the widget, so sales or success can follow up.
- One click connect. Connect with Slack sign-in and pick a channel; no webhook URLs to paste.
- Feeds the gap list. Every handed off question also becomes a gap with a drafted article in the review queue.
Good to know
- Alerts cover handoffs and new leads; edits and drafts wait in the dashboard's review queue.
- Webhook URLs are secrets: rotate them if one leaks and update usedocs.
- Delivery is queued, so expect seconds, not milliseconds.
- Reconnect if the Slack app is removed or the channel is archived.
